Hatshepsut was the female pharaoh of the Eighteenth Dynasty who was the daughter of Thutmose I and Ahmose. After her father died, her half brother Thutmose II became the pharaoh and married with her. When Thutmose II died, his son Thutmose III was too young to take power. So, Hatshepsut acceded the throne and named Ma'atkare. She was known as the Queen who had beard because she dressed in the traditional king’s kilt and crown, with a fake beard. Under her reign, Egypt prospered. She built the temple Djeser-djeseru which was dedicated to Amon and served as her funerary cult, and placed two huge obelisks at the entrance of the Temple of Amon at Karnak. Hatshepsut had notable trading expedition to the land of Punt and the ships returned with gold, ivory and myrrh trees. In the 21st of her reign, she had mysteriously disappeared and about 20 years later, her evidences were destroyed.
