Regarding DDM (Daily Direction Meeting), I would like to recommend followings.
1. Change name
Daily Direction Meeting (DDM) Top Management Meeting (TM Meeting or TMM)
(Reason)
1) Actually, it’s not daily, every 2 days.
2) Direction? From President?
Meeting is not for direction from president, it’s for discussion and make decision with everyone’s understanding.
If we say direction from president or SEVP, it sounds like Army. You don’t need to say “ Yes Sir !! ”. You should say “ Yes I understand”
2. Attendance
All Managers and above.
(Reason)
Let’s think purpose of TM Meeting
1) As I said before, we can decide everything speedy because all managements are attending.
This is best point of the meeting.
2) We can discuss or share important matters such as Company Policy, Organization, Big Events, Safety, Quality and so on.
So, managements need to know what company is going to do, what is company situation, in order to decide your department important matters.
3) Most important things is that you inform to all your employees in your department about decision by TM Meeting.
In order to achieve this, all management should join.
3. Rule
1) Sit down chair before start time. --- I know you hate this, but please get familiar step by step for your good habit.
2) Create method to inform to all employees in your department if not have method yet.
3) No hesitate to talk. No need to worry about you may say wrong or not. It’s OK. Free talking.
4) If you have to absent,
- Inform in advance
- Prepare replacement person if available.
