organic acids in dilute solution have little effect on cotton,
except oxalic, citric and tartaric acids which are liable to cause
tendering [2]. However, degradation of cotton may arise from
acid hydrolysis of the fibres [2]. Therefore, the pH of the dye
solution for the experiment on the adsorption isotherm was
fixed at 3.0.
