And if you are asking about censorship, yes I will continue to do so in translating [God & Devil World]. In fact, there is a mild re-wording in this chapter. And no, this is not negotiable nor is it up for vote.
Please, may I point out that we are not living in a perfect world here. Some people feel offended if I post something that the author has written, others feel I am harming the author’s works. As a translator, I need to strike a fine balance between both groups of people.
That is why I am upfront and honest with you if I censor anything. If I do censor anything, I make it public and let the public judge. But no, I am not going to change my mind about censorship.
Also, you need to be aware that I am not living in a part of the world where I have Free Speech.
All the law here cared about are two things before it send my ass off to jail for many, many years:
I am the one posting it on my blog.
The post is offensive to some groups of people.
And no, I am not kidding. The law does not make the distinction between translated works and the author. It does not even discriminate between rant or fiction. I do not live in a country where I can speak or write freely. Even the internet is censored here. This is a sad reality.
So I apologise to people who feel that I should just interpret it as it was given. I have no desire whatever to go to jail.
