1.4. Research questions
In the Norwegian documents on teacher education, the term “research based education” is used. This idea has been emphasized in the 2010 reform, but we have very little research on how this is understood or practiced by faculty and students in teacher education programs. Are the research based programs designed to promote research based professional work? Do they emphasize inquiry or research? The following questions will therefore enable us to investigate research in teacher education in a way that can provide insights necessary for future development:
