The effects of the mixed compounds showed that the higher the
amount of the constructed mixture, the greater the inhibitory
activity against the anthracnose fungi. The inhibition rate could
reach as high as 98.75% if the concentration of the artificial mixture
was 40 lL L1. The potential use of the artificial mixture to control
the anthracnose pathogen in mango is being tested. Future
research will be needed on designing agriculturally acceptable
and practical ways for efficient use of the antifungal volatiles to
keep mango quality during the postharvest storage, distribution
and marketing period.
