The book by Bartelmus (2013) on sustainability economics provides an introduction, which deals with sustainable development and economics in a more general way. Both Bartelmus (2013) and Söderbaum (2008a) are interested in describing economics and policies for sustainable
development. For Bartelmus (2013): “Sustainability economics encompasses micro- and macro-concerns of sustaining economic growth and development” (p. 1). Instead of pluralism in the discipline
of economics, the focus here is directed towards “integrative environmental and economic analysis and policy” (Bartelmus, 2013 p. 124).
