Yield performance: 'Cowpea-88' was tested at the University Research stations as well as on farmers field throughout the state for its green fodder and grain yield performance On the basis of these trials it is possible to state that 'Cowpea-881 has out-yielded the standard variety 'Cowpea-74' in both, green fodder and grain yield performance (Table 2). Apart from the yield, the cooking quality of 'Cowpea-881 as a pulse crop is very good and the nutritive value of its green fodder is superior to that of 'Cowpea-74' [2].
