Genghis Khan was mostly known for his slaughtering, which is one of his better skill sets, however he also created a better empire for the Mongols and he brought Mongolia under one ruler. Genghis Khan didn't bring all the tribes together in a second, he battled through countless campaigns to control all of Mongolia, and after this happened he rapidly expanded into Eurasia. Genghis was most likely led to do this from an event in where his early wife, Borte, was captured by the surrounding tribes(bio. 1). As he continued his rule, the Mongols had an elite set of around 20 thousand soldiers to protect and conquer his large empire. As his campaigns got unto larger things, such as China and Japan, many nations were almost ready to completely leave the protection of the city walls. All of their nightmares became true the night that the Mongols had a hand in Rome falling, as it was the empire that had been there for thousands of years.
