The vehicle flows for the last mile are centrally-managed by the WPM team, while a cooperative is in charge of loading and deliveries. When requested, the cold chain is maintained by refrigerated warehouses and vehicles. The project plans to make use of data transmission systems, supported by satellite networks for vehicle localization. The goal is to centralize orders so as to optimize routes, deliveries, fleets and loads, and there by simultaneously improve the efficiency and operational capabilities of the distribution system and recover the cost of breaking bulk.
