Research Instruments
Research instruments were divided into two categories:
2.1 Experimental Instrument
The experimental instrument consists of six lesson plans, which were based on the principles of teaching English creative writing through the Melodic Approach. The lesson plans were designed according to the Melodic Approach. The class of instruction totalled 9 classes and each took a hundred minutes. The class met once a week on Fridayfrom 08:10 - 09:50 am. Three lesson plans, first, fifth, and sixth, took a hundred minutes each. The other three lesson plans, second, third, and fourth, took a hundred and fifty minutes each.
2.2 Data Collecting Instruments
There 'were two data collecting instruments: authentic creative writing assessment rubrics and an attitude inventory.
1) Authentic Creative Writings Assessment Scoring Rubrics
English creative writing works were assessed at the end of each lesson plan. The topics were "Musical Portrait & Moods", ''Mountain Experience", "My Dream House", "Weather", "The Baby Bear" and "The Naughty Rabbit", The scoring rubric for grading was used for creative writing assessment. The scoring rubric is as followings:
