3.2.4. Effect of catalyst dosage
As shown in Fig. 8, the FAME yield increased with the increase in catalyst dosage when the catalyst dosage was lower than 1.0 wt.%. However, further increase in catalyst dosage had a declining change on the FAME yield from 91.3% (catalyst dosage was 1.0 wt.%) to 85.7% (catalyst dosage was 6.0 wt.%), which was possibly owing to a mixing problem involving reactants and solid catalyst. The same statements were also addressed by previous studies [45] and [46]. Accordingly, 1.0 wt.% of catalyst dosage was suitable to obtain higher FAME yield.
