Privy Council president and statesman Prem Tinsulanonda wished success to the government and all those who turned up at his Si Sao Thewes home this morning to bid him a happy 95th birthday.
The well-wishers, including cabinet members and top military and police leaders, were led by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha.
Gen Prem, in a speech Wednesday, said he was proud of the show of unity.
"As long as the armed forces are strongly united, I am sure that the prime minister, as well as Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister (Gen Prawit Wongsuwon) and others will be able to work successfully, regardless of difficulties," he said.
Gen Prem said he believed everyone would be able to return "happiness to the people" and bring about national conciliation
