The largest value measured in every set of points is 1.54–6.16
times as large as the average value from the rest of the points therefore
it causes major increase if it is counted into the average. As a
result, mean velocity values obtained in mathematical model are
lower than measured values for airflow. However, at the first sight
(Figs. 4–8) it might seem quite the opposite. In technical applications
it is the most important to determine the pressure loss and
the loss of air flux which are determined by mean velocity. Because
of the fact that the average values of the velocity measured and calculated
are similar, they can be used in calculating the plastic foil
air ducts shaped by gauge pressure.
