Before any battle everyone must have their kit an weapons checked Everything we use must be authentic. This is a very important rule in our group Some groups used to go into battle wearing trainer and digital watches! We try to be as authentic as possible
Our authenticity officer, Andy, as a very close look at my clothes and my axe. "You'll do, he says and marks my arm with a rubber stamp. Nothing gets past Andy. He makes Jane take off her helmet because it has a chin-strap. Roger is told he can't use his axe. "Too sharp," says Andy. "Too dangerous. One of our group has to change his shirt. "It's the wrong colour. It's dark blue," explains Andy, and only a very rich person would have had a shirt that colour. Dark blue dyes were very expensive.
