Morphological observation of a 2-week-old culture of
strain NEAU-NH11T grown on ISP 3 agar revealed
that the strain had the typical characteristics of the
genus Streptosporangium. It produced aerial mycelia
with single spherical sporangia (generally 2–5 lm in
diameter; Supplementary Fig. S1) that produced nonmotile
sporangiospores. Good growth occurred on ISP
2, ISP 3 and ISP 6 agar; poor growth on ISP 4 agar; no
growth on ISP 5 and ISP 7 agar. The colours of aerial
and vegetative hyphae were in yellow colour-series.
Melanin and diffusible pigments were not observed on
all tested media (Supplementary Table S1). Strain
NEAU-NH11T grew well between pH 6.0 and 7.0,
with an optimum pH of 7.0. The temperature range for
growth was 18–35 C, with the optimum temperature
being 28 C. Growth was observed in the presence of
0–1.0 % NaCl (w/v). Detailed physiological and
biochemical properties are presented in the species
