2.4. Statistical analysis
All experiments were carried out in triplicates. Analysis of variance of the results was performed using the General Linear Model procedure of SAS Statistical Software, Version 6 (SAS Institute, 1989). Multiple comparison of the means was performed by least significant difference (LSD) test at =0.05 level.
3. Results and discussion
The proximate composition of native barley flours is shown in Table 1. There were minor differences in protein,lipid and ash contents of CDC-Candle and Phoenix flours, whereas their starch, IDF, SDF and b-glucan contents were considerably different.
