After two rather mild, rainy storms passed through the region Friday and Saturday, a third weather system Sunday brought cooler air and falling snow levels along for the ride.
Stevens Pass received 4 inches of snow while 12-13 inches of snow fell at Mt. Baker ski resort.
More snow showers are expected Sunday night and a Winter Storm Warning remains in effect through midday Monday for another few inches of snow above 4,000 feet.
That remains higher than Snoqualmie Pass and just rain is expected there.
The snow is also welcome news to help mitigate additional rainfall runoff in the mountains, where several inches of rain fell Saturday, sending several rivers over their banks for minor to moderate flooding. The Snoqualmie, Snohomish, and Skokomish rivers remain on flood warning through Sunday night, but all others rivers are back in their banks.
