When it comes to plants, I am a green thumb wannabe. I want to have their color, life, and fragrance in and around my home. I long for the messy disorganized beauty of an English garden in the spring. I drool over the lovely explosion of peonies in early summer. I smile at the autumnal splendor of mums in the fall. I look to spy the Lenten Rose that can brighten a winter landscape. Yet, none of these horticultural beauties appears in my yard. Why? It would take Work. Effort. Care. That is where my green thumb wannabe becomes my green thumb willneverbe.
