This paper investigated the sweet sorghum growth and productive
responses to different water treatments, and the potential
for first and second-generation bioethanol production
obtainable from soluble sugars and residual biomass respectively
at two different harvest dates, after anthesis and close
to physiological maturity. As one of the aims of the work was
to monitor the sweet sorghum growth and productive responses
to different water treatments under constant climatic
conditions, the experiment was carried on for 1 year under
controlled environment. Despite results obtained should be taken with caution due to the short time analyzed, they are
generally in agreement with those found in literature, especially
concerning the productive performances of the crop, so
they were reported and discussed in the paper.
