3.2. Development of bacteria in suspension
The development of each bacterium during incubation was
recorded in Fig. 2. After about 2 days for B. licheniformis (Fig. 2A)
and 6e8 days for L. paracasei (Fig. 2B), the cell counts in adjusted
samples were higher than in unadjusted samples. However, cell
counts in adjusted and unadjusted samples were not significantly
different when using 0.1% skim milk solutions (p > 0.05). This
exception might be elucidated that, the effect of the limitation by
nutrition at this level was stronger than the effect of inhibition by
pH to both tested bacteria.
