Growth measurement
Biomass accumulation was evaluated by measuring culture turbidity (DO) and biomass weight. D. tertiolecta growth was determined by measuring, every 2 days during 14 days, optical density i.e. absorbance of the culture suspension at 680 nm
(Ultraspec 3100 pro). To evaluate biomass concentration (g/l), total algal culture was centrifugated at 4000 rpm for 10 min. Supernatant was carefully removed and pellet washed twice with di-ionized water to remove the salt excess. Later the pellet was dried in oven at 50 C for 12 h to measure the dry weight.
