As a result, I really never got the constructive feedback that would have made my teaching practiced more effective for the learning process. This article points out that feedback should be given using descriptive, "non-judging" language in a manner that provides an analysis of the action and not the individual. Likewise, feedback should be received as a means of improving educational practices, not a personal attack. It was emphasized that self-awareness of how one is perceived and perceives others and certain behaviors, demeanors, and speech is very important to avoiding the negative pitfalls that often accompany feedback.
