Electricity generation in Europe's most advanced economies has passed an important milestone.
In Germany, the UK and Denmark, wind power is now the cheapest source of electricity even without government subsidies.
Wind power is cheaper to produce in these European countries than the more traditional energy sources used in Thailand such as coal, natural gas and hydroelectric power.
In the US, if government subsidies are included, wind power became the cheapest form of electricity last year. Solar hasn't reached this point yet, but is not very far behind wind power.
In the US, wind and solar power have both been rising at an exponential rate even though they still only account for a small percentage of electricity generation, 5% in 2014.
