Though this hurt me, I took it lightly and laughed with them at my foolishness. I had to manage to learn from the people so that familiarity and friend-ship would be built up. In preparing conventional agricultural implements and tools such as spades and hoes, I had to ask for assistance. I had collect firewood and cook my own meals, however. But I had to rely heavily on the villagers in the repairing and building of my house. I did small chores for them while they were working on the construction and repairs.
