By blending HDPE with various amounts of NRP, TPNR
could be prepared with a wide range of properties. With
this technique, the blend ratio of NRP/HDPE could be
increased up to 90/10 and, thus, highly elastic TPNR could
be obtained. Apart from the negative effects on processability
and tear strength, increasing NRP content results in
the improvements of elasticity, softness and tensile
strength. Owing to thermal degradation of the embedded
NRP, the mechanical properties of the TPNRs are slightly
impaired with increasing recycling.
