In this study, in order to achieve high dye fixation
in the absence of salt without affecting other properties
of dyes, we design a physical modification agenttertiary
amine cationic polyacrylamide (TACPAM, see
Fig. 1) for cotton. Three reactive dyes with three primary
colors [C.I. Reactive Red 195 (RR 195), C.I.
Reactive Yellow 145 (RY 145) and C.I. Reactive Blue
19 (RB 19)] are selected for investigation due to their
wide commercial application and different representative
structure types. In order to realize chemical bonding
of the dye with cotton and promote dye penetration
in fabrics, exhaust-pad-steaming dyeing method
is specially designed for the agent. The pretreatment
and dyeing conditions are investigated in order to establish
a favorable salt-free dyeing method to realize
good dyeing properties of reactive dyes.
