Thus all things are part of one spirit known as Brahman. Another way in which this relationship is expressed is in the Sanskrit statement, “Aham brahma asmi” (“I am Brahman”).
So if we are looking for the origin or cause of the world, we can find it in ourselves, just as this underlying cosmic unity (Brahman) is present in all things.
Finding the meaning in life entails introspectively looking within ourselves more than outwards through rituals such as the fire ceremony.
This underlying unity of the world exists on both a spiritual and material dimension. This unity of spirit and matter is implied in the term “saccidānandā,” which appears in the Upaniṣads.
This statement sums up the idea that our perishable individual self is to be equated with the eternal world around us.
