Experiment 3
In Experiment 3, we presented infants with the two hand postures from Experiment 1 simultaneously
while measuring looking times at the give-me gesture and at the inverted hand shape. To
be as consistent as possible with the original context, a moving ball was also presented in the scene.
However, no action of receiving the ball was presented. We reasoned that if infants generally pay more
attention to the give-me gesture, they should look more at this gesture than at the inverted hand
shape.
