Taiwan-based Acer Inc, the world's fourth-largest computer maker, is pivoting to a new growth engine as the conventional one stalls.
"We are focusing on higher-margin businesses in the areas of computer games, two-in-one tablets, convertible notebooks and Internet of Things-based devices," said Jason Chen, corporate president and chief executive.
He said the move was aimed at avoiding cut-throat price wars with rivals as well as improving margins and sustaining business.
