Another example of this behavior can be seen when analyzing agrolite mixed with
different materials (compost, peat moss, tezontle, and coconut fiber), where both porosity
percentage and its standard deviation are completely different (from 66.9 up to 80.3%
porosity, and SD from 5.8 to 16.3). This means that a single inorganic material will have
different behaviors in its physical or morphological properties depending on the organic
material with which it is mixed. The fact that different particle sizes are present with a
regular distribution in each container causes the substrate to be a complex system (Vargas
et al., 2008b), which makes its characterization difficult (Verdonck et al., 1984).
