These activities ultimately generate knowledge that can be used to support decision making. Therefore, both the data (at various times during the process) and the

knowledge (derived at the end of the process) must be presented to users.
This presentation can be accomplished by using different visualization tools.
The created knowledge can also be stored in an organizational knowledge base and then used, together with decision-support tools, to provide solutions to organizational problems.
The remaining sections of this chapter will examine the elements and the process shown in Figure 6.1 in greater detail.
