This study indicates the importance of freshmen's proactive social behaviors during college transition. Feedback seeking mediated the pathways from conscientiousness to freshman's GPA and general social- izing mediated the relationship between extroversion and freshmen's engagement in student activities. These findings cast light upon how freshmen come to adjust in their new college environment and make a successful transition to college. We encourage future research to build on these findings and further enhance our understanding of col- lege freshmen's transition and educational development.
