The selectivity of the method was evaluated by extracting and
analyzing blank samples. The absence of any signal at the elution
times of the target mycotoxins spiked in blank samples indicated
that there were no interferences that could give a positive signal.
In Fig. 2 are shown typical HPLC chromatograms of blank pomegranate
samples and also of samples fortified with 0.2 lg/g of the target
mycotoxins. It can be observed that the optimized extraction
procedure provides clean chromatograms without interferences.
