Setting
Data collection took place in a rural school district in Illinois, which encompassed 173 square miles. Within this disuict are six villages or towns with populations averaging around 900 people each. The average annual student enrollment in this district is approximately 1,800 students (Pre—K through 12th grade), which are divided among five campuses. Only two of the five campuses are elementary campuses. The two elementary buildings are each located in one of the six towns described. Each building has a single-story design on the edge of town bordering farm fields. Neither of these towns contains any type of medical clinic or facility. However, both towns do have a volunteer fire department with certified emergency medical technicians on call 24 hours a day
