Aspiration pneumonia was recorded in 122 (3.22%) pet dogs which is an inflammatory lung disorder that
occurs when dog inhales a foreign substance. This most commonly occurs with disorders that cause regurgitation
or vomiting. In addition, neuromuscular disorders that cause difficulty swallowing or paralysis of the esophagus
can also lead to aspiration pneumonia. Clinical diagnosis is based on history and clinical first signs of coughing,
unwillingness to exercise, fever, depression, loss of appetite and nasal discharge.
