On Saturday March 28, Dutch star Martin Garrix will step up to the main stage at Ultra Music Festival, and he told Beatport he’s coming armed with a stacked of new music. The 18-year-old producer has an hour-long slot between Steve Aoki and Armin van Buuren at 7:45pm, and he’s been intensively planning in the lead-up.
“I’m very nervous and excited,” Garrix told us about the Ultra performance – where he’ll be unveiling his new track alongside Tiësto, “The Only Way Is Up,” which will be featured in a new 7UP campaign. “We’ve been in the studio, [teaching] each other tricks,” Garrix said of his mentor.
Miami’s traditionally a testing ground for new tracks ahead of summer, and that’s how Garrix is playing it. He broke down his full plans for Ultra, promising a set of “100-percent Martin Garrix material,” 60-percent of which will be brand-new and never before heard until now. Check out a preview of our interview with Garrix below.
