Wat Racha Burana built followed the Khmer concept of temple construction, consisting of a central tower surrounded by four corner towers, forming a quincunx. All temples in the early period of the establishment of Ayutthaya were Khmer styled, consisting primary of laterite structures and bricks, enhanced with stucco.
The temple's tall prang is better preserved that Wat Phra Ram, with many nagas, garudas and other statues beautifully rendered in stucco.
