Primary Data Collection: This aspect of the market research process is somewhat complicated by the fact that direct-to-consumer marketing of pharmaceuticals is prohibited in many countries (World Health Organization 2009). As such, marketing activities are primarily targeted at government agencies and doctors. That said, an understanding of our customers is nevertheless of great value to the firm, and the organisation will conduct research on this. First off, consumer wants and needs will be assessed through the aforementioned collection of secondary data from governments and diabetes NGOs, as recommended by Baack, Harris, and Baack (2012).
