Questions 1-4 were designed to gauge
the teachers’ attitudes toward mathematics,
questions 5 and 6 were designed to gauge
the teachers’ beliefs about the importance
of teaching mathematics in the preschool
classroom and questions 7-9 were designed
to investigate teachers’ beliefs about how
mathematics is taught in the classroom. The
results of the surveys were then coded and
analyzed using a grounded theory approach to
qualitative research (Glaser & Strauss, 1967).
