Those are Asian carp. Those fish were brought here from China, for catfish farmers to keep their ponds free of algae. One pond levee failed and the few that got away have caused all of the lakes and tributaries of the Mississippi River,to over populate with them and reduce dramatically the amount of native fish. They get excited when a boat comes through and they go airborne. They can cause serious injuries by hitting you in places like the eyes or face in general. Some have broken people's ribs. You can't ski in lakes where you used to be able too. There are lakes in the delta, that I used to be able to limit out in bream, crappie, and bass, easy. Now it's a hard day fishing, just to catch a few. They are very bony, and not easy to make them edible. Fishermans paradise.... Not hardly. They are a nuisance.
