Medium density fiberboard is made from the pieces of scrap wood that are unusable in any other form. Resin, pressure, and heat form the wood to the fiber wood density. Medium density fiberboard differs from other densities because of the slightly different way it is made. Medium density fiberboard is formed with a different pressure level so that it is lighter than a heavier density wood like plywood, but stronger than a lighter density wood such as particle board. Medium density fiberboard is used for many different wood projects, and is often covered with veneer finishes, to give it a more wood-like feel
