Dense conventional castables are much stronger than insulating castables
with strengths generally equaling those of normal firebrick of the same class.
In dense conventional castables, hot strength behavior with increasing temperature
is principally dependant on the cement type—low, medium-purity, or highpurity
calcium aluminate cement, and the amount used in the formulation.
