We now have a special announcement for the Thai Bird-watching Society.

It concerns the up-coming annual international gathering of birdwatchers in Chiang Mai. I have been asked to announce the confirmed dates and events.

The 27th Annual World Symposium of Birdwatchers (AWSOB) will be held from November 20th to 29th at the Nok Suai Hotel in Chiang Mai. Meetings, seminars and workshops will be at the nearby Penguin
Conference Complex, which is within walking distance of the hotel.

The seminars, workshops, talks, and displays will be at the Penguin Complex. There is also a 2-day excursion to study some of the nocturnal bird species in the northern region. There are three species of nightjar, and nine species of owl or owlet in addition to the Red-wattled Lapwings that are often seen at night.
