“A Family Bonding trip; Ruined. Do not go without an even number of people”
Feb 10, 2015
Our family was a group of 5, when we booked we specifically asked if they would add people to us, We were all over 30 and fit, and looking forward to the bonding of the trip together. They told us, the six (with the guide) would be fine. When we arrived they had added two extra people to our group, making us 7, not including the guide. It was at this point, they positioned me in the front of the boat, with no paddle, just an extra body along for the ride. There were other odd numbered boats and we saw no other boats that did this. My advise to the company, and I do hope you read these, is DON"T EVER do this to anyone again, unless they request it. WHY? because you completely excluded me from the family trip, Who goes on a rafting trip, and doesn't want to raft!? Everyone else of the boat were high fiving with the paddles, as they bonded via the team effort of navigating the river together, while I sat there like a lemon, getting colder and colder as I was not moving at all to combat the constant soaking. I had no camaraderie with my fellow rafters, as I did nothing to contribute. You alienated me from our family excursion where I showed up/ paid to raft, and instead did nothing. This was incredibly disapointed and ruined what should have been a wonderful family memory.
As a side note: The company and its staff were very nice, and they were very organized and I would definitely recommend this trip. The river itself was very easy, and not a challenge. We rafted when the water was at its highest / hardest, and in comparison to my last rafting trips, it was a breeze. My complaint, and reason for this rating was for one reason only, but unfortunately quite a large one, that for me personally ruined the entire experience. My family will all disagree, as they all had a wonderful time, because they had the trip they were expecting.
