God revealed to the angels how this creature was distinguished, able to detect mysteries and ascertain their peculiarities. The angels then were ordered to bow down to this creature ‘Adam’ for the glorification of Allah for such a great creation. In the Surah Al-Baqara, the Holy Quran states: "And behold, we said to the angels: ‘Bow down to Adam’; and they bowed down; not so Iblis; he refused and was haughty; he was of those who reject faith." (Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 34)
Allah granted man a position higher than that of all other creatures and ordered the angels to bow down to him honorably and in exaltation and they all bowed down in obedience to God's orders, except the Satan (Iblis) who-haughtily and proudly refused to bow down. Therefore, he was driven out of His Mercy and became the enemy of man; always seeking to stir up the flames of tumult and sowing the seeds of evil among people because Allah preferred man to him. In illustrating the Satan's refusal to bow down to man, the Quran states Satan saying "I am better than him, thou created me out of fire and created him out of clay."
Since the creation, God ordered Adam and his offspring to keep away from evil
