Cross (2002) defined probiotics as beneficial microorganisms
that can colonize and multiply in the gut of a host and exert various
beneficial effects, including immunomodulation, by influencing
diverse host biological systems. Previously, we reported that L. lactis
subsp. lactis I2 effectively inhibits the growth of S. iniae in vitro.
This effect was confirmed by the increased survival rate of olive
flounder infected with S. iniae
