-To follow the procedures, policies and techniques of service.
-To have full understanding of the menu preparations to ensure good salesmanship.
-To be courteous and friendly to guests and colleagues.
-To present menu to guests and take beverage and food order if necessary.
-To recommend menu items and beverage if necessary.
-To understand the coordination between the kitchen and the restaurant.
-To assist guests with chairs when arriving and leaving.
-To clear soiled items to the washing area.
-To continuously check and replenish or exchange: bread, butter, water, ashtrays or any other condiments.
-To reset table as soon as guests leave.
-To replenish clean items to their respective areas.
-To remove soiled linen and place them in appropriate area.
-Personally ensure compliance with all relevant Workplace Health & Safety and Occupational Health & Safety legislation, and related - Brand- and Starwood Policies.
-To promote the hotels- loyalty programs
-To drive and achieve business goals set for the department and take personal responsibility
-To take personal responsibility for the hotel assets and costs, understanding that all items have a value
-Uphold the Starwood Cares culture by demonstrating the Star Service Standards at all times to guests and fellow associates. We NEVER say - No- to any guest without providing an appropriate alternative at all times!
-Understand the responsibilities of the other stations and departments (kitchen, stewards, bar, hostess) and co-operate with them. Remember, you are part of a team, so take pride in your team- s performance.
-To attend daily briefings and follow the given directions
-To complete all side duties assigned by the Supervisors, Assistant Manager and Manager.
-To carry out any other duties as and when required by the Supervisors.
