navigation satellite systems (GNSS) are a significant enabling technology that has many
applications that generate economic and social benefits for the UK and the wider global economy.
Based on these EU-27 satellite navigation penetration rates, and the contribution of these industries to
UK GDP, the GPS-sensitive contribution is around 7% of UK GDP, or about £100 billion in 2010 prices.
The reliance of users on GPS covers many key industries that have become central European economies
