1.Hold-relax(HR)
a. In the hold-relax procedure, the patient performs an end-range isometric contraction of the tight muscle before it is passively lengthened. The rationale behind this techniques is that, after a prestretch contraction of the tight muscle, that same muscle will relax as the result of autogenic inhibition and therefore be more easily lengthened. The Golgi tendon organ (GTO) may fire and inhibit tension in the muscle so that it can be more easily lengthened.
